This course provides an introduction to the biological aspects of dementia, brain regions affected in ADRD, normal cognition and brain changes with aging, and current and emerging therapeutic management of ADRD. Participants will learn about best practice approaches to a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and the characteristics of different forms of dementia while introducing best practices for developing interdisciplinary teams who deliver effective person-centered treatment plans.
