Overview
This two-hour course builds on foundational knowledge by guiding participants through personalized treatment planning and early intervention strategies. The course emphasizes interprofessional, team-based collaboration, encouraging medical and dental providers, nurses, and allied professionals to coordinate care, share decision-making, and align treatment priorities to improve oral–systemic health outcomes.
Through case-based learning and scenario discussions, learners will develop practical skills for planning individualized care and fostering collaboration across clinical disciplines.

Learning Objectives
- Demonstrate communication and motivational interviewing techniques that enhance patient trust, engagement, and adherence.
- Define the components of a comprehensive, patient-centered oral health treatment plan.
- Assess and prioritize oral health needs based on shared review of medical, behavioral, and lifestyle factors.
- Design individualized care plans that integrate prevention, early intervention, and maintenance strategies.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among dental, medical, and nursing professionals to support coordinated care.
- Demonstrate team-based problem-solving through interactive, case-based exercises.
